Construction Estimator

Job Overview
General Contracting firm in Grand Junction, Colorado specializing in Commercial, Development, Excavation, Metal Buildings, Remodeling and Residential general contracting services on the Western Slope is currently seeking a Construction Estimator. Our work primarily includes: commercial ground up, tenant finish projects, and excavation. The ideal candidate will be extremely motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, loyal and have a strong desire to help our organization to continue growing.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify and assist in securing new work by investigating leads.
  • Conduct plan and specification reviews for all assigned projects.
  • Coordinate and attend bid-job walks.
  • Bid preparation to include Invitation to Bid and Solicitation process.
  • Qualifies subcontractor and vendor bids.
  • Ensure proposals are complete and accurate and include all scopes of work.
  • Provides construction means and methods procedures to ensure competitiveness and profitability of all projects.
  • Ability to run multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Project scheduling
  • Provide value engineering solutions for all clients to optimize the project budget.
  • Possess a firm grasp of design-build construction.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-years commercial construction Management and/or estimating
  • Good organization skills
  • Computer experience specifically Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Fluent in English both verbally and written
  • Knowledge of different construction methods, planning, scheduling and commercial strategies
  • Customer service driven
  • Team oriented
  • Professionally ambitious

In addition to PTO after (1) year, you will get (6) Major holidays paid to include New Years, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Equipment Operator

Overview
Locally owned, well respected General Contractor is actively seeking (1) equipment operator or (1) CDL licensed truck driver/heavy equipment operator. We are growing and will be busy throughout the foreseeable future.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Safety First Mindset
  • Communicating and the ability to work professionally with clients, supervisors, other crew members and subcontractors
  • Reliability and Punctuality
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions

Qualifications

  • Proficiency operating various excavation equipment including: Skidsters, Backhoe, Trackhoe, Blade/Grader experience preferred.
  • Use small tools including shovel
  • CDL Preferred but not required

Merritt and Associates, a General Contracting firm in Grand Junction, Colorado is currently seeking a Working Superintendent. Our work primarily includes Development, Commercial ground up builds, Tenant finish projects, Metal Buildings, Residential remodels and builds, and excavation. The ideal candidate will be extremely motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, loyal and have a strong desire to help our clients and our company.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and work on Projects from start to finish
  • Coordinate and schedule all subcontractors on the project
  • Maintain good communications with Property/ Project Owners throughout entire project
  • Conduct plan and specification reviews for all assigned projects.
