811 Bill Signing With The Governor

Coloradans all became safer yesterday thanks to the efforts of the Western Colorado Contractors Association- WCCA, the state legislature, and Gov. John W. Hickenlooper. We were there as the Governor signed Senate Bill 18-167 at Colorado Mesa University.

As of January 1, 2020, all newly installed underground facilities – power, water, sewer, etc. – will need to be electronically locatable. This will prevent location errors that can lead to accidentally hitting a power line when digging and other costly damage to utilities.
